Restored by Love

What if “Do not fear” is more than a command?
We can hear those words as something God expects us to achieve, as though fear must disappear before we are living in faith. Yet throughout Scripture, “Do not fear” is spoken as the Lord moves toward people in their fear and reveals what fear cannot see.
Fear is Not the Enemy: Episode 2
Through Abram, Hagar, Simon Peter, Jairus, Jesus’ “little flock,” and John’s encounter with Jesus in Revelation, we discover that fear doesn’t have to disappear before we turn toward Him. We don’t have to understand the ending before we stay with Him or resolve the question before we bring it into relationship.
Perfect Love comes close.

What if feeling fear doesn’t mean you’re failing?
Fear is often treated as evidence that something is wrong with us, that we don’t have enough faith or that we’re moving backwards. This can leave us afraid of fear itself, trying to overcome it before we feel able to trust or follow the Lord.
Fear Is Not the Enemy: Episode 1, we begin to separate the experience of fear from the conclusions we’ve learned to draw from it. Through Psalm 56 and the disciples’ experience in the storm, we discover that trust can exist while we are still afraid.
Fear doesn’t define who you are, determine what is true or mean that you’ve failed. The Father meets us where fear rises and invites us to bring it into relationship with Him. Freedom can begin before fear is completely gone.
